Titanic in search of an iceberg

Privacy policy

Updated 2026-10-01

This site collects as little as it can. Visitors who just read the public pages aren't tracked: there are no analytics or advertising trackers. Members give an email address and a password, and that's all.

1. Who is responsible

Titanic in search of an iceberg is run by BookingAddon LLC, which is responsible for the personal data described here. Questions or requests: [email protected].

2. What is collected

Everyone. Like any website, the site sees your IP address and the pages you request. It uses your IP address only to limit repeated attempts at logging in, signing up and requesting emails. That record is held in memory, never saved to the database, and forgotten within an hour. The site's hosting and network providers (below) also keep short-lived technical logs to run and protect the service.

Members. When you create an account, the site stores:

The site doesn't ask for your name, address, phone number, payment details or anything about your finances or investments, and doesn't record which pages members look at.

3. Cookies

The site sets one cookie of its own: a session cookie that keeps you logged in and protects forms against forgery. It is essential to how the site works, is deleted when you close your browser, and isn't used for tracking or advertising. Cloudflare, which carries the site's traffic, may set its own security cookies to filter out bots.

4. How it is used

Your data isn't sold, rented or shared for advertising or marketing.

5. Who processes it

A few service providers handle data on the site's behalf, only to provide their service:

Data may also be disclosed if the law requires it, or to protect the site, its users or others from fraud or abuse. These providers may process data in the United States or other countries, which may have different data-protection rules from where you live.

6. How long it is kept

Account data is kept until you delete your account, which removes it from the database at once. A sign-up whose email address is never confirmed is deleted automatically after 30 days. Copies in the hosting provider's backups and logs expire on their own schedule.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act or Panama's Law 81 of 2019 may give you further rights, including complaining to your local data-protection authority. Requests are answered whichever law applies.

8. Security

Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes, traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), login sessions are signed so they can't be forged, and repeated login attempts are limited. No system is perfectly secure, so use a password you don't use anywhere else.

9. Children

The site isn't meant for anyone under 18, and accounts are only for adults. If you believe a child has created an account, email [email protected] and it will be deleted.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when the site's handling of data changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
